Dale Kempster, CSC, CTC, TTMAC, is the Technical Director of Schluter-Systems (Canada), and has been with the company for 30 years. He is currently vice president of the Materials, Methods, and Standards Association (MMSA) in the U.S. Kempster co-chairs the Specifications and Technical Research Committee and is chair of the Terrazzo, Tile, and Marble Association of Canada’s (TTMAC) 09 30 00 Tile Installation Manual. He is the current chair of the Canadian Advisory Committee for the International Standards Organization (ISO [TC189]), as well as the Convenor of ISO TC 189 WG 11, which is creating a Standard for Uncoupling membranes for Tile Installations.

Afsheen Khan was the Engineering lead and Project Manager on the Utopia project. She provided Framing engineering, structural detailing for anchor solutions, project coordination and QC/QA with mock-up installation and during construction. The main challenge for this project was the magnitude, size and weight of panels and installation tolerances. Efficient, economical, and innovative solutions were provided which were simple to install for this award-winning project. Afsheen has built strong relationships with clients through her consistent and reliable service over her 9 years at PICCO. Exceptional projects such as Yale and Vanderbilt Universities, “Utopia” Plensa sculpture, Aga Khan Museum, Studio Bell in Calgary, among many more bespoke estates, continue to endure as examples of her talent. Pierre has been involved in the construction industry for over 35 years. He's involved with the ICRI (Internation Concrete Repair Institute) and currently holds the position of vice-president of this association. He's also a member of the ACI (American Concrete Institute).

Badr Salhia has been with Ciot for 11 years. He is an expert in Large Format Porcelain and Ultra Compact Materials and has trained hundred of fabrication shops across North America on the handling and cutting of these materials. Badr is also heavily involved in the industry and sits on the TTMAC Board of Directors.

Aatif Markar the founder of Stone Fabrica has been implementing 'best practices and fostering business growth in the highly competitive environment of stone technology and innovation in Canada. Played a leading role in the Canadian stone industry for more than 20 years in which he was able to develop new markets and new products segments and helped many in establishing their stone fabrication shops throughout Canada.

I started my post secondary education at the college level with a 3 year course on automation and controls. This program focused on mechanical and electrical systems and controls in industrial automation. After completing this, I was positioned in the automotive industry for a period of three years. I worked in Mold Injection plants servicing and maintaining mold injection machines and 3-axis pick and place robotics, and paint plants servicing and maintaining 6-axis robotics. I then went to university to pursue 2 degrees in electrical engineering and computer programming. I specialized in Power Systems and Protection. Following completion, I landed a position at a nuclear power plant as a systems engineer. During the over 7 years I worked there I was responsible for the emergency power systems of the facility. I was charged with equipment/component reliability for battery systems, rectifiers, UPS’, Motor Control Centers, Low & Medium Voltage breakers and protection relays. I acquired some experience with turbine generators and high voltage systems. During this time, for a few clients, I was still involved in providing service, maintenance and repair for machines and equipment in the Steel, Stone and Wood industries. I decided to test my entrepreneurial ambitions and left the nuclear industry to provide service for machines on a full time basis. Today, we now sell, service, rebuild, install and provide training on a variety of machines and equipment

Frank Bruno was a fundamental part for the creation of the companies Carrelage FN in 2011 and Productions Terrastone in 2015. He has over 40 years of experience in the stone market. He has also founded in 2015 in coordination with the Construction Commission of Quebec the Terrazzo School in which were trained 192 students. He is currently working as a consultant for both companies and has made Productions Terrastone the first company in Quebec to develop the new modern Epoxy Terrazzo, giving the recipes the opportunity to create 3D designs adapted to everyone’s imagination.
